Music Important part of gangs
Music plays an important role in gang life. Members often particularly identify with rap music. Many rap artists like Snoop Doggy Dog or 2PAC were former Gang members. Snoop was a member of the famous LA gang “Crips”. The lyrics of many rap songs describe the life in the ghetto, gang life, as well as the sorrows and feelings of people in the “hood.” But rap is not only an outlet for feelings and thoughts but also offers the possibility of getting out of the “Hood”
